CLIMATE TECH 1OO IMPACT AWARDS

The cornerstone of the global RHRN Tech initiative is the annual Right Here Right Now Climate Tech 1OO Impact Awards, which inspires, curates, and promotes innovative technologies that address climate change while respecting and advancing human rights.

The inaugural Climate Tech 1OO Impact Awards will be hosted by United Nations Human Rights and TechStars April at the Museum of Popular Culture (MOPOP) in Seattle, founded by Microsoft co-creator Paul Allen.

The Awards referred to as the “Academy Awards for Climate Tech” will focus the world’s attention on innovators who create ground-breaking solutions evaluated for impact in three areas: advancing human rights, mitigating, and adapting to climate change, and economic viability.

Winners will be featured in a variety of global media, including a celebrity driven social-media campaign. The Climate Tech 1OO Impact Awards will culminate with a world class concert in MOPOP's Sky Church, hosted by United Nations Human Rights.

NOMINATIONS

Who can apply?

Innovators from large to small companies, who have created an innovation that is currently in market, demonstrating an ability to make a significant difference in the fight against global warming and its effects.  The innovators will also have to show 10-year projections from the time of nomination, of their innovation’s ability to scale.

Applicants will also be asked, “how will the spotlight accelerate or increase your impact?” In-market solutions may need more customers to accelerate their sequestration goals. The spotlight introduces them to new markets. B2C solutions need more customers. The spotlight gives them exposure to a global consumer audience. The goal is to ensure this heightened attention will accelerate impact, improving the quality of life for people affected by climate change while at the same time supporting mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

Companies seeking the spotlight should understand that Right Here Right Now Tech is intentionally inclusive – as it is focused on real impact, no matter from where it comes. Climate Tech will be evaluated for impact potential regardless of stage, age, or revenue – as long as it’s currently in market and can show a ten-year projection. Innovations that reverse. prevent, or adapt to global warming and simultaneously address the human rights crisis caused by climate change – and do both with a financially compelling business model – deserve the global attention the spotlight will bring.
